KITCHENER, ON – THEMUSEUM is pleased to announce the official launch of Bob McDonald’s new book, titled Canadian Spacewalkers: Hadfield, MacLean and Williams Remember the Ultimate High Adventure.
McDonald, one of Canada’s leading science journalists, has been the host of CBC’s Quirks and Quarks since it began broadcasting in 1992. He has also won numerous awards for his work within the scientific community, and has been given honorary doctorates from eight post-secondary institutions across Canada.
His new book, which will officially launch at THEMUSEUM on Saturday, October 18, 2014, talks about the only three Canadians who had the opportunity, and were brave enough, to walk in space. He also tells some of his own stories about adventuring through space flight simulators and a mock-up of the International Space Station.
The book launch will begin at 1:00pm on October 18, 2014 in THEMUSEUM’s third floor theatre. Steve MacLean will be there to introduce Mr. McDonald. General admission tickets for the event, which include a copy of Canadian Spacewalkers, meet and greet, talk, and access to exhibitions are $30+HST. About Bob McDonald Bob McDonald is the host of CBC Radio's Quirks & Quarks, as well as a reporter for CBC's The National. McDonald has authored three science books and contributed to numerous textbooks. He also sits on several boards and is Chairman of Geospace, a new environmental centre and planetarium for the Toronto Waterfront. About Steve Maclean Steve Maclean is one of Canada’s original six astronauts and the former president of the Canadian Space Agency. Steve Mclean has been awarded with several prestigious awards and honors. After stepping down as the CSA President last year Mr. MacLean is focusing in on Quantum Physics in Waterloo Region.
