TITANIC AND AVATAR FILM PRODUCER COMING TO THEMUSEUM

90 minute interactive discussion to focus on the making of Titanic and 
Braving a New World: The Innovations Behind Avatar & What Lies Ahead

KITCHENER, ON – In association with Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition, THEMUSEUM is pleased to announce An Evening with Jon Landau as part of its Titanic Speaker Series. 

Mr. Landau will arrive from Los Angeles where he won the Academy Award for Best Picture as Producer of James Cameron’s Titanic. Together they were also nominated for Avatar and have just announced plans for Avatar 2 and 3. To date these represent the highest grossing films with combined revenues in excess of $3.5 billion dollars.

“This is another win for the community,” said David Marskell, CEO of THEMUSEUM. “And we would not have been able to bring Mr. Landau to the Region without the support of Christie Digital Systems Canada Inc., the world’s leader in digital projection and strong supporters of THEMUSEUM’s efforts.” During Mr. Landau’s visit, he will tour Christie’s Canadian headquarters in Kitchener.

Presented by Christie, An Evening with Jon Landau will take place at THEMUSEUM on Thursday December 9th, 2010 and feature the Oscar winner talking about his experiences as producer on the films Titanic and Avatar followed by a discussion with all in attendance on the future of digital cinema. Landau will look to the audience to for engagement, providing an interactive presentation.
