THEMUSEUM’s Storefront to host a Blues Pop Up Gallery
During Kitchener’s Blues Festival, BarnRaising Associates will showcase local art
Kitchener, ON –THEMUSEUM is pleased to announce another partnership with BarnRaising Associates. From August 6th to 9th, and August 12th to 15th, THEMUSEUM’s storefront will be transformed to host the Stone Soup Blues Pop Up Gallery, which is being hosted in support of Button Factory Arts.
The Stone Soup Blues Pop Up Gallery will coincide with Kitchener’s Blues Festival. The art show will feature pieces from more than a dozen of Waterloo Region’s most prominent local artists. All of the artwork on display will also be available for purchase and a portion of each sale will be directed to Button Factory Arts.
“We are very excited to be working with BarnRaising Associates once again and help fuel support for Waterloo Region’s arts and culture scene,” said David Marskell, CEO of THEMUSEUM. “One of THEMUSEUM’s four pillars is creating a Community Stage, and this event will do just that: bring arts and culture together with the public in the downtown core.”
Alan Quarry, founder of BarnRaising Associates said "Art is the heart of all communities. We are happy and proud to continue our close relationship with THEMUSEUM. Making art accessible to the people of Waterloo Region while raising funds for good causes such as Doctors Without Borders Canada and now Button Factory Arts is what BarnRaising Associates is all about."
The official opening event will be on August 7th, beginning at 7:30pm. Kitchener blues guitarist Daniel Honsberger will open the night, followed by world renowned blues musician Jordan Patterson. Guests can enjoy conversations with the accomplished artists, a cash bar stocked with craft beer and wine with light snacks provided by Ce Food Experience. To top it all off, guests will have the chance to win a one-of-a-kind art poster signed by blues legend B.B. King.
The Stone Soup Blues Pop Up Gallery will be open to the public from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on weekdays, 3:00pm to 7:00pm on Saturdays, and 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Sundays.
Earlier this year, BarnRaising Associates hosted another Stone Soup event at THEMUSEUM and raised $12,500 for Doctors Without Borders Canada. Both THEMUSEUM and BarBarnRaising Associates look forward to raising more while sharing local art with the community.
