5 Things To Do During March Break

Still not sure what to do with the kids? With March Break literally right around the corner, THEMUSEUM has arranged a variety of events, activities, guests, and much more to keep you and your children covered. Below you’ll find 5 interactive, exciting, and inspiring things to do this March Break.

1.       Maverick the Dinosaur, LIVE! | March 13, 14, 16 at 10:30am

Meet our pet dinosaur, a juvenile T-Rex named Maverick! Lead by our resident “Paleontologist”, this show will teach you all about our cool new…er…old friend! What he eats, how his body works (such as his sharp teeth and claws, as well as his tiny arms), how he moves and more! You will also learn how a T-Rex is similar, or different, compared to other dinosaurs.

2.       Jungle Cats! Wildlife Safari | March 14 at 1:30pm

Come see an array of mammals from around the world! This show will be an exciting opportunity to see these amazing animals up close and to learn about their fascinating lives. Where do they live? How do they survive? What is their role in the ecosystem? What we can do to protect them from going extinct? Meet our wildlife experts and learn the answers to all these questions and more!

3.       Carnival Day with Drew Ripley | March 16 at 1:30pm

^ Drew Ripley’s 2015 Dinosaur Sculpture

We are celebrating Carnival Day with special guest Drew Ripley. Drew is a balloon artist, unicyclist, AND stilt walker! Create your very own balancing circus performer in Creation Station: Balancing Act and then walk through our newest exhibit, Step Right Up! The Travelling Carnival in Canada.

4.       Special Guest: CBC Kids | March 17 from 10am-2pm

Your children’s favourite CBC Kids characters are joining us for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Play games and take a photo in their special photo booth. You’ll meet Gary, Janaye, Victor, Dot, and Scout at the Studio K Photo Booth and also be able to try out the Dotopedia app!

5.       Paint THEMUSEUM Green! | All Day

Join us as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the Irish Real Life Festival. The day will be full of family fun, Irish dance, Celtic crafts, and tales to transport you to the Emerald Isle with award winning storyteller Pauline Grondin. We’ll be building replicas of beautiful Irish castles with the fun folks of Tinker Trucks and painting THEMUSEUM green!

And there you have it – 5 family fun activities for you and yours to enjoy this March Break. Be sure to check out www.THEMUSEUM.ca/events for a full list of our programming and activities.
