Camps
Day Camps are a long-standing children’s program at THEMUSEUM. Since 2008, our campers have had a fantastic time at THEMUSEUM! We aim to awe, inspire and enlighten through our engaging educational camp programs in person.
Currently, we offer two main camp streams, our Day Camps (ages 5– 12) and The Underground Studio MakerSpace Camps (ages 9 – 14) for Winter Break, March Break, PD Days and Summer Break.
Join us for a day of exploration, creativity and fun! Learn about a variety of exciting topics guaranteed to ignite curiosity.
THEMUSEUM Day Camps
THEMUSEUM’s Day Camps give children the opportunity for hands-on learning about a range of topics. Campers will participate in engaging activities while watching demonstrations by our trained Camp Leaders.

Dinosaur Rock
Tuesday, June 28
Learn all about where the dinosaurs come from! Where they were born, what kind of “rocks” they come from, and learn all about how they grew up. You might even see some baby dinosaurs while you learn!
Up, Up and Away
Monday, July 4 – Friday, July 8
Monday, August 15 – Friday, August 19
Rocket ships, planes and helicopters have one thing in common, they all go up, up and away! All week long learn the science about what makes them fly. We’ll wrap up by blasting off our own rocket ships into the sky!
Animals + You

Animals have senses just like us… but did you know there are some senses that only animals have? In this week-long camp, learn all about how sharks, bats, dinosaurs and other awesome animals use their unique senses!
STEAM Wars

Calling all future astronauts! THEMUSEUM is going to help you start your journey to space in this week-long camp. You’ll learn all about becoming a space explorer, the science behind space, and make some awesome space-themed crafts to go along with it!
Sense-Sational!

Our senses allow us to see, hear, taste, smell and feel! In this week long camp, learn all about the parts of our bodies that allow us to experience these amazing sensations.
Movie Magic!

Lights, camera, ACTION! We’re making movie magic all week long at THEMUSEUM. Learn about the history behind film making, and record your own short film.
The Underground Studio MakerSpace Camps
THEMUSEUM’s Underground Studio MakerSpace opened in 2016 as a place for people of all ages to explore making, tinkering and hands-on learning. The Underground Studio MakerSpace camps are designed to challenge and develop the skill sets of our older campers giving them a chance to learn and experiment with a variety of topics.

Mini Drones
Tuesday, June 28
Campers will learn how to use circuitry, propellers and switches to make a simple drone that can elevate!
Galaxy Projector
Monday, July 18 – Friday, July 22
Monday, August 15 – Friday, August 19
At a museum, not so far away, explore our exhibitions and make an out-of-this-world galaxy projector! This project will introduce campers to the world of coding using Arduinos, refraction, light, woodworking and more!
Human Augmentation

Did you know that scientists and engineers have come up with ways to help people who cannot experience their 5 senses? This process is called Human Augmentation! Campers will spend the week making three human augmentation devices including a hydraulic arm, sound amplifier and VR headset while learning new skills in engineering and 3D modelling.
Stop Motion Animation

Make movie magic in The Underground Studio MakerSpace all week long! Campers will develop characters, a short story, and make a stop motion animation while exploring the legacy of space films.
STEAM Powered Girls
Monday, August 1 – Friday, August 5
STEAM Powered girls is back! This camp is for girls, non-binary and female-identifying children. The camps are run by an amazing team of women in STEAM. Learn firsthand from women who are experts in their fields of science, technology, engineering, art and math!
FAQ
Redeem Camp CreditIf you are redeeming a camp credit, please register your child as normally. When you get to the final page for payment, please send an e-mail to Camps@THEMUSEUM.ca with your name and child’s name and we will apply the credit.
Registration Process
Note that ALL Day Camps and The Underground Studio MakerSpace Camps registrations will be processed online through our CampBrain portal.
To register your child(ren) for any of our camps please click the CampBrain Registration link and follow the instructions below.
- Log in to your existing CampBrain account or sign-up as a new user.
- Create profiles for each child that you’d like to register for camp and indicate your membership status.
- Select the camps you’d like to enrol in and add them to your cart.
- Complete the necessary forms and submit credit card payment.
- Review your confirmation email for further details and a copy of your tax receipt.
First-time registration will take approximately 20 minutes. Forms need only to be completed once per season. Forms will auto-populate from previous seasons but can be updated when enrolling for a new season.
Register for Camp
Tax receipts for all camp registrations from Summer 2019 onward are emailed to you at the time of booking and are also available through your CampBrain Profile. The document listed as “Household Account Statement” will act as your tax receipt.
Requests for Tax Receipts can take 5-10 business days to process. Calling our Visitor Services desk will not expedite the process.
If you require a Tax Receipt for camp registrations before Summer Camp 2019, please email us at Camps@THEMUSEUM.ca and include the following information:
- Your child’s full name
- Your child’s date of birth
- The year(s) that your children were registered for our camps
- The camp season(s) (i.e. PD Day, March Break or Summer)
- The session(s) or dates of your registration

Refund/Cancellation Policy
Registration: Registration is accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. Payment must be received at the time of registration.
The Underground Studio MakerSpace registrations close seven days before the start of camp.
Cancellations: Cancellations must be received prior to the start of camp to receive a 90% refund of the total cost. The 10% Administration Charge covers staff’s processing time and credit card fees. Free transfers are available to another date/week dependant on availability. Any requests for camp cancellations or transfers must be emailed to Camps@THEMUSEUM.ca with the subject line: “Camp Cancellation – Camper’s Name”
