From Behind the Mask is a community art project, creating a community quilt in the form of a mask. The project is an opportunity to come together – while apart – and make something that will remain as a memorial, acknowledge inequality, and act as a starting point for healing.
During this 55 & Better Fridays workshop, Brenda of From Behind the Mask, will introduce textiles, quilts, and discuss the background of the project. Join in as Brenda demonstrates different techniques for creating your own quilt block at home!
Quilt Block Kits can be picked up at THEMUSEUM on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays from 9 am to 5 pm. Quilt Block Kits can also be mailed to you by indicating in your registration form. Registration for this event closes on January 29, 2021.
More information about the project can be found here: https://frombehindthemask-quilt.com/ and you can follow along on Instagram @frombehindthemask_quilt
55 & Better Fridays are sponsored by Chartwell Retirement Residences and funded by the Government of Canada.
