There is likely no other artist that has solidified the idea of a road trip in the human imagination as solidly as the author Jack Kerouac.

Inspired by the 100th anniversary of Kerouac’s birth and the 65th anniversary of the publication of On The Road THEMUSEUM and guest curator Virginia Eichhorn developed ROLLING UNDER THE STARS | A Photographic Journey. This exhibition takes guests through the lens of Scooter Korek to 50 states and 10 provinces that make up two-thirds of North America.

Scooters’ work is on display to remind us of the “before” and to inspire us in the new “now”. These photos, like Kerouac’s novel, encourage us to embrace the experiences on whatever road we are led to.  We can’t live in fear of the unknown and we can’t stop moving forward, moving on, as individuals and communities.

Why open THEMUSEUM newsletters?

"Just scanning the themes here, I think you and the programming team should be very proud of the relevance of your institution to so many of the important conversations of our time. Please keep doing what you’re doing!"
