Step over the threshold of colour
January 24, 2019 – January 5, 2020
SPECTRUM is an interactive, immersive, shareable, and playable experience now on at THEMUSEUM!
Local and international artists have created fun and colourful installations for all ages! From “forest bathing” in a sensory ball pit to experiencing sound transformed into sight, this innovative hands-on exhibition explores the effect that colour has over you.
NEW TO SPECTRUM
Enter the exhibition through our new Chain Rainbow and experience our installation Pixel Art – Everbright by Hero Design! This is an interactive light board composed of hundreds of colour dials that turn endlessly in either direction through the colour spectrum!
Other additions to the space include a 3D Colouring Station where you can draw a creation, then watch it come to life and a new interactive digital wall.
For our fall refresh, we have a new Featured Artist, Kat Hernden. Kat is a local Downtown Kitchener visual artist, with several geometric creations along with a new commission entitled Nothing Doesn’t Exist that will put a new twist on #ColourTripping!
A SPECTRUM favourite has also been refreshed! Work No. 1513 Half the air in a given space (2013) by artist Martin Creed has a whole new look thanks to Orange balloons… right in time for the Fall.
We are thrilled to develop this wonderful experience for the entire community, so don’t forget your camera and be prepared to step over the threshold of colour.
SPECTRUM is included with the price of admission.
