Family Hack Jam – Call for Makers
Attention all makers!
This year THEMUSEUM is celebrating its 8th Family Day Hack Jam! THEMUSEUM and The Underground Studio MakerSpace invite you to bring your talent and love for the community together for Family Day, February 17, 2020. Please join us from 9am to 5pm to celebrate maker culture with people of all ages in the community.
As THEMUSEUM is a not-for-profit organization, we are working with a limited budget and ask that our exhibitors donate their time to participate as a way of giving back to the maker community. However, if you require support to run your workshop, please indicate your requests in “special requirements” in the attached form and we will accommodate to the best of our abilities. This event is an opportunity for you to teach over 1000 visitors about your talents/skills/passion and share the great work you’re doing in the maker community. To thank exhibitors, we will be providing a pizza lunch for everyone. Parking is located behind THEMUSEUM at the Duke/Ontario garage and entry to THEMUSEUM is from Level 2.
For this event, we ask that you prepare an interactive activity for visitors of all ages to experience. This does not need to be a take-home activity but you are welcome to do so at your own expense. It must fall under the maker umbrella and provide visitors with an interactive experience that allows them to explore science, technology, engineering, art or math. If you require any special materials, please indicate in the form below. We will try our best to provide electricity to your station but please be advised that it’s not guaranteed as we don’t want too many cords obstructing visitor traffic.
Closer to the date of the event, a final schedule will be e-mailed to you. Exhibitors may begin setting up at 8:10am on the date of the event and need to be ready by 9am. Some considerations can be made for set-up if you need extra time or help. Please let us know with ample time to ensure you have a smooth setup.
If you are interested in participating, please fill out the Family Hack Jam 2020 Exhibitor Form and e-mail it to The Underground Studio MakerSpace Coordinator, Riley Shortt at Riley.Shortt@THEMUSEUM.ca no later than December 31, 2019.
