Celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day and the Summer Solstice

Kitchener, Ontario –

THEMUSEUM is extending an open invitation to the community for its annual Sunrise Ceremony. This donate-what-you-can event celebrates National Indigenous Peoples Day and the Summer Solstice.

At First Light: Tsi Tewentahróhos is presented in partnership with the Waterloo Indigenous Student Centre and the City of Kitchener and will be held at THEMUSEUM on Thursday, June 21.

Celebrations start at 5:59AM, with the Summer Solstice at 6:07AM. Local fire keeper AL McDonald and community elder Kelly Fran Davis will lead the traditional Sunrise Ceremony. Those in attendance are then invited to enjoy music, dancing and coffee at THEMUSEUM before exploring new exhibitions, including TIFF digiPlaySpace and Decoding E-Money.
