FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – THEMUSEUM Hosts An Evening with Fran Lebowitz
Outspoken author, journalist and social observer presented at Lazaridis Hall
Kitchener ON | – THEMUSEUM is excited to welcome author, journalist, and social observer Fran Lebowitz to Kitchener-Waterloo this October for a moderated talk and candid audience Q&A.
Lebowitz, most recently the star of “Pretend it’s a City”, a docuseries based on living in New York City, began her career with multiple odd jobs before becoming a writer for Andy Warhol’s Interview Magazine. Since then, Lebowitz has written many wickedly entertaining essays spotlighting her witty and sarcastic demeanour and has starred in various documentaries about life.
The New York Times describes Lebowitz as, “Hilarious…an unlikely and perhaps alarming combination of Mary Hartman and Mary McCarthy…. To a dose of Huck Finn add some Lenny Bruce, Oscar Wilde and Alexis de Tocqueville, a dash of cabdriver, an assortment of puns, minced jargon, and top it off with smarty pants.”
“As THEMUSEUM plans to grow along with the city of Kitchener and Region there is no better person to offer her insight and wit into what a city should aspire to be,” said David Marskell, CEO THEMUSEUM.
The event will be held at Lazaridis Hall at Wilfrid Laurier University on October 22, 2022, at 7:00pm.
Tickets will be available for purchase at 9am on June 22 at THEMUSEUM.ca, with special rates for students and VIP packages available. An Evening with Fran Lebowitz is in support of THEMUSEUM operations.
