It’s Our Anniversary & We’ll Eat (All) The Cake If We Want To!

THEMUSEUM Celebrates 15 Years #DTK

Kitchener, Ontario –

THEMUSEUM is celebrating 15 glorious years in downtown Kitchener and everyone is invited to the party on Saturday, September 29 from 10am-4pm.

In addition to 2003 pricing ($7.00 admission Saturday AND Sunday, September 30) there will be cake while supplies last, special programming and activities and the official launch of our brand new exhibition, BRAIN: The World Inside Your Head. The parkade off Duke Street, with an entrance to THEMUSEUM, is free on Sundays.

“As we approach this milestone, I am reminded of the commitment and passion expressed by our board, our supporters and this community,” said David Marskell, CEO, THEMUSEUM. “I have so many fond memories; we were open for 36 hours straight for the last days of Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition. I took a pie in the face from summer campers at the end of their week. I overheard a father, down on one knee, explain to his young son who Terry Fox was, and why he ran across Canada.”

Members of the public are encouraged to share their best THEMUSEUM memories to social media using #MyFave15.

To ring in a decade-and-a-half, THEMUSEUM is hosting Remembering Gord Downie on Wednesday, October 17 and Dance Mix 90s Volume 2 on Friday October 19. The Beer Series is back for another year, starting with Beer & Fur Babies: Dogs Welcome! on October 24.

In addition, public consultations will soon begin on THEMUSEUM’s next 15 years and the expansion plan. Sessions run Wednesday, October 10 and Sunday, October 14. All are welcome to attend; more details can be found here.

THEMUSEUM’s 15th Anniversary Celebration is generously supported by The City of Kitchener, CHYM 96.7 and The Kitchener Waterloo Record.
