Museum After Dark: Studio 54

Posted on: February 1, 2015 by THEMUSEUM

The “Museum After Dark” series presents a unique blend of entertaining events for young professionals throughout Kitchener-Waterloo. This month our featured event is Studio 54: a fundraiser that will see THEMUSEUM, along with its staff and guests, entirely transformed to fit this year’s theme: Sinners and Saints.

The BIGGEST party of the year is back!

Are you searching for a night full of extraordinary entertainment, impressive performances, show-stopping surprises, and a crowd bursting with energy? Studio 54 is an annual fundraiser that encompasses everything you would want in a fun night out.  From Naughty-Cal to Victorian Secret, Studio 54 has brought on some of the most entertaining themes fit to transform THEMUSEUM and its guests.

After five years, Studio 54 is back again! This time, guests can pick a side to this year’s theme: Saints and Sinners. Whether you’re naughty or nice, good or evil, you can dress up, act the part, and let loose on Saturday, February 28.

So what brought on Studio 54?

In 2009, THEMUSEUM hosted the Andy Warhol’s Factory 2009 exhibition. Warhol frequented Studio 54, a popular New York City nightclub in the 1970s and 1980s. THEMUSEUM wanted to bring some disco back into the area, so they decided to unleash Studio 54 on Waterloo Region.

The success of Studio 54’s first volunteer organized event influenced five more events which in turn raised almost $200,000. All funds raised go back to THEMUSEUM and each ticket purchased includes a tax receipt for the maximum allowable amount.

Since THEMUSEUM is a not-for-profit organization it relies on charitable donations in order to continue to awe, inspire and enlighten the community with thrilling exhibitions and exciting entertainment. THEMUSEUM is exceedingly grateful for the continued support from our community, sponsors, volunteers and promotors who assist us in our efforts to create funds.

This year’s Studio 54 event will be unlike any other. THEMUSEUM will be full of angels and devils, cops and prisoners, the good and the bad alike.

This is an event you won’t want to miss, so be sure to get your tickets now!

Get your costume ready, your dancing shoes on, play your role and party the night away! Now it’s time to ask yourself the all-important question: Are you a Saint or a Sinner?

Why open THEMUSEUM newsletters?

"Just scanning the themes here, I think you and the programming team should be very proud of the relevance of your institution to so many of the important conversations of our time. Please keep doing what you’re doing!"
