First Panelists Announced

Kitchener, ON – A new date of Friday, April 24, 2020 has been announced for the panel on our Climate Emergency to be moderated by Peter Mansbridge. The original date was April 22.

The panel is part of the broader ALARM Dialogues featuring films, speakers and the panel. ALARM | Responding to Our Climate Emergency consists of four exhibitions, three at THEMUSEUM and SPECTRUM | The Climate Emergency Experience opening February 7 at the Shops at Waterloo Town Square.

An Evening with Peter Mansbridge will take place at Bingeman’s Conference Centre in Marshall Hall and will consist of Peter discussing his illustrious career in a one-on-one format with CBC KW morning host Craig Norris as well as moderating a panel of journalists and researchers in a conversation on the current climate crisis. THEMUSEUM has also announced the first three panelists:

Megan Ogilvie, Journalist, Toronto Star

Winner of 2010 Canadian Science Writers’ Association, Science in Society in Journalism Award.

Jessica Johnson, Executive Editor and Creative Director, The Walrus Magazine An award-winning journalist who has worked with a range of North American publications, including The Globe and Mail, National Post, Saturday Night, Lucky, Elle, and The New Republic.

Sarah Burch, Senior Fellow, CIGI, Professor at the University of Waterloo A CIGI senior fellow who contributes to research on financing sustainable development, focused on the exploration of innovative solutions to address challenges associated with climate change and sustainability.

Sarah is a Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) in Sustainability Governance and Innovation, and assistant professor in the Department of Geography and Environmental Management, University of Waterloo.
