THEMUSEUM Moves All Summer Camps Online

Posted on: June 10, 2020 by THEMUSEUM
Kitchener, ON – The safety and well-being of THEMUSEUM’s camp community has always been a top priority. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, THEMUSEUM team has been working tirelessly and strategically in an effort to find the best possible way to safely operate in-person camp programs for summer 2020. With provincial limitations prohibiting us from hosting camps at this point and state of emergency policies having been extended, the organization has made the difficult decision to cancel all inperson camp programming for the duration of the summer. The comfort, health and safety of campers and staff is simply too important.
David Marskell, CEO THEMUSEUM said, “We have balanced our visitor’s and staff’s safety with the public’s need and our sustainability. The best way to accomplish these considerations is to move online. We also already have a robust virtual presence with free and pay what you can programming online and it is a logical step for us.”
THEMUSEUM recognizes that its Day Camps are a fundamental learning component for many families in Waterloo Region. With the absence of in-person camp, the team will offer accessible Virtual Camps in a way that will awe, inspire & enlighten children in the comfort and safety of their own home.
Virtual Camps will allow families to continue to receive fun, educational programming that THEMUSEUM has always strived to offer while also creating room for new partnerships both locally and outside of Waterloo Region. THEMUSEUM is committed to providing an online summer experience that is both as interactive and exciting as in-person camp while also allowing families to learn together in their own homes.
In addition to offering virtual camps, THEMUSEUM will continue to offer free online programming at THEMUSEUM @ Home
