THEMUSEUM Prioritizes Safety with Temporary Closure

Continuing to Monitor Under Guidance of the Province & Public Health Officials

Kitchener, ON – With the safety of staff and guests at the forefront of its decision, THEMUSEUM has decided to temporarily close to the public effective at end of day today. Although not yet instructed to do so by Regional or Provincial Health Officials, THEMUSEUM’s leadership team made the decision in the best interest of the families and friends of members, guests and staff and to assist in helping to lower the number of COVID-19 cases in Waterloo Region.

There have been no incidents of COVID-19 at THEMUSEUM.

Previously scheduled private events will continue including Saturday’s Pop-Up Weddings which feature small family groups.

THEMUSEUM will continue focusing on virtual content programming and cultural content to visitors through THEMUSEUM+ and offsite events. Building on the success of the last evening’s 250-person sold out PickleFest virtual event, and outdoor attractions for pandemic-stressed families like the successful COVID-safe Dinosaur Drive-Thru, THEMUSEUM is confident that meaningful content will still reach its visitors and help protect future in-person events, holidays, and public programming.

“We are living in unprecedented times when the importance of things in our lives must be shuffled into a proper list of priorities,” said David Marskell CEO of THEMUSEUM. “We will work to amplify our response to the pandemic and continue to prioritize the safety of the public and our staff in all of the programming and services we provide to our communities.”

THEMUSEUM will continue to assess daily developments and are confident that the building will safely reopen to the public in due time.
