Buy Tickets

To buy tickets for special events, please visit our events calendar. Masks are encouraged when visiting THEMUSEUM.

If you are visiting with a membership obtained through a library program, Access 2 Entertainment card, Canoo mobile app, or PAL card, please visit THEMUSEUM to book your tickets. This can be done on the day of your visit at the front desk.

Parking

The Duke Street Parking Garage contains more than 400 paid parking spaces with direct access to THEMUSEUM and is run by the City of Kitchener. Parking is not included with admission to THEMUSEUM, but it is free on Sunday! Find additional parking on the City of Kitchener Website.

ION Stops

Travelling to THEMUSEUM by ION rail is easy! Southbound passengers will exit the ION at Queen Station (on Charles St. W between Queen St. S and Benton St.). Northbound passengers will exit the ION at Frederick Station (on Frederick St. between King St. E and Duke St. W).

THEMUSEUM is delighted to announce it has been awarded the #SafeTravels Stamp. The Safe Travels Stamp is an international symbol designed to allow travellers to recognize governments and companies around the world, which have adopted health and hygiene, standardized protocols – so consumers can experience ‘Safe Travels’.

FAQ

Do I have to purchase tickets in advance, or can I just buy them at the door?

General admission tickets can be purchased at the door or online in advance.
If you do not know the date of your visit, consider a gift card!

How long does it take to go through featured exhibitions?

Most people take about an hour to go through our exhibitions, but feel free to take longer if you would like!

How old must a child be to be unsupervised in THEMUSEUM?

13, we require all children under the age of 13 to explore with their designated adult accompaniment within THEMUSEUM for their safety.

Does my admission to a featured exhibition include the rest of THEMUSEUM?

Yes, your admission includes access to other areas of THEMUSEUM, including the Tot Spot, Atrium, our daily programming, special guests when scheduled, and many other areas during your visit unless otherwise indicated.

Is THEMUSEUM wheelchair and stroller accessible?

THEMUSEUM is completely wheelchair and stroller accessible. There is also one free wheelchair that can be borrowed from Visitor Services depending on availability.

Is THEMUSEUM peanut-free?

THEMUSEUM asks that visitors do not open nuts or other food items which other guests might be allergic to while visiting, although THEMUSEUM cannot guarantee a nut-free facility.

Are there exhibition tours at THEMUSEUM?

Most of THEMUSEUM’s exhibitions are self-guided. Tickets purchased online for specific times refer to the time you are expected to arrive at THEMUSEUM to enter the exhibition. Tickets are valid for entry during the time slot you have purchased. Occasionally, THEMUSEUM has guided tours for exhibits. The days and times for these can be found on our calendar.

Can I take photos in THEMUSEUM?

Yes, you absolutely can! We only ask that you refrain from using flash photography in our exhibition spaces. If photography is not permitted within a specific exhibition space, there will be a sign indicating this. Otherwise, we would love to see your photos! Snap a pic of your trip and tag us on Instagram at @themuseumkitchener or use #THEMUSEUM!

Is there a gift shop?

Exhibition and THEMUSEUM-related merchandise can be purchased at THESTORE on the main floor of THEMUSEUM. You can also access THESTORE directly from King Street.

What type of footwear should I wear for my visit?

We recommend closed toe shoes and socks for your visit.  We have some experiences that require the removal of shoes and sock feet (EYEPOOL Immersive Digital Gallery, StarLab planetarium, Watering Hole Ball Pit). Disposable socks are available upon request (may not fit all).  

Am I able to purchase tickets as a gift that are not timed and dated?

No, you must buy a dated ticket. If you are unsure of when the gift will be used, consider a gift card!
