Code of Conduct
PREAMBLE
THEMUSEUM’s mission is to awe, inspire and enlighten by presenting fresh content from around the globe in unique and immersive ways designed to showcase art & technology at play. We welcome guests to experience THEMUSEUM within a framework of behavior outlined, but not limited to, these conditions. This outline is to help ensure that both guests and staff members of THEMUSEUM are in a safe and respectful environment.
CODE OF CONDUCT
The following points will outline THEMUSEUM’s Code of Conduct. While on the premises, guests are expected to behave in a manner that is consistent with our policies. We ask that guests are respectful of the building, its contents, other guests, THEMUSEUM staff members and volunteers. Respect and sensitivity should always be shown while on THEMUSEUM’s property and while communicating with our staff and volunteers.
Appropriate behaviour, decorum, and conduct are required from all guests and staff members. Actions or behaviours inconsistent with THEMUSEUM’s values and code of conduct will not be tolerated.
THEMUSEUM’s management reserves the right to remove from the premises without compensation guests who are breaking any law, regulation, THEMUSEUM policy, displaying inappropriate behaviour, or actions that put into jeopardy the safety of other guests or staff. Ticket holders may be removed at any time by refunding their admission. Memberships may be revoked and guests can be banned from the premises should offensive, abusive, or threatening behaviours be demonstrated.
Inappropriate conduct resulting in immediate removal includes, without limitation:

- Offensive, abusive, disparaging or defamatory communication, language or behaviour towards staff of THEMUSEUM, volunteers or any other guests
- Violating or preventing execution of duties by THEMUSEUM staff to maintain order and control of public access or movement
- Threatening, intimidating, resisting or intentionally interfering with THEMUSEUM staff engaged in their official duties
- Any damage to or destruction of property located in or around THEMUSEUM
- Failure to comply with THEMUSEUM’s policies or security measures after being advised thereof
- Any communication or conduct that may be damaging to the reputation of THEMUSEUM, its staff, or volunteers when performing their assigned duties
- Any behaviour by individuals that exhibit actions that are inconsistent with THEMUSEUM’s values or are harmful to staff or other guests
- Any actions that support or commemorate current or historical hate groups either inside or on THEMUSEUM’s premises
- Any actions or language that promotes hatred towards people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, disability or sexual orientation, or any actions or display of items that support or promote organizations or people with such views
- Leafletting, protests, rallies, political canvassing and third-party sales that has the effect or propensity of disturbing enjoyment for other guests or staff is strictly prohibited
GUEST BEHAVIOUR

- Guests are required to wear proper attire while in THEMUSEUM. Signage will indicate when shoes can be removed prior to entering certain areas. Shirts are to be always worn. Clothing is to refrain from containing offensive wording or imagery.
- Guests are to refrain from running in our space. Guests should also refrain from disruptive behaviour including injurious, profane, obscene or other language deemed inappropriate while in THEMUSEUM.
- Children under 13 years old must always be accompanied by an adult while in THEMUSEUM. Adults are defined as individuals aged 18 and over. Parents are not to leave their children unobserved in different areas of the building. Our Tot Spot area is designated for children under the age of 4.
- Guests suspected of being intoxicated or otherwise under the influence will be asked to leave THEMUSEUM.
- Pets are not permitted in the building apart from service animals.
- THEMUSEUM is a smoke free property. Guests smoking within a nine-meter distance of any main entrance will be asked to relocate. Smoking within the building regardless of device or substance used is strictly prohibited.
- Obstructing the use of public areas such as entrances, emergency exits, elevators and stairways is strictly prohibited.
SAFETY AND SECURITY

- All persons entering THEMUSEUM and the outside parameter of the building are subject to video surveillance.
- THEMUSEUM is fully stroller and wheelchair accessible.
- Photography is permitted for personal use only. We request flash be turned off. Photography or filming of the space for promotional purposes or projects (such as educational assignments) must have prior approval from management.
- Trespassing, entering or remaining in THEMUSEUM premises when it is not open to the public (without expressed permission from management) is not permitted.
- Tampering with fire and emergency equipment is not permitted.
- Weapons of any type, or other items deemed to be inappropriate or prohibited under the Criminal Code of Canada, are strictly prohibited from entering the premises
THEMUSEUM reserves the right to amend the above Code of Conduct without notice.
