So, You Think You Understand Blockchains & Cryptocurrency?

THEMUSEUM Hosts Financial Info Sessions, Including One Just For Teens!

Kitchener, Ontario –

There’s no shame in not fully understanding (OK, or not at all) what blockchains and cryptocurrency are all about.

Have no fear – the next time you’re sitting around a summer campfire or there’s a pause at trivia night, you will be able to speak on the matter with confidence and knowledge!

THEMUSEUM is hosting All About Blockchains and Cryptocurrency in partnership with Quantstamp, Consensys and BlockGeeks on Thursday, August 23, 2018. The basics of the industry – explained – with a live tutorial, keynote speaker and a panel discussion led by blockchain professionals, followed by a networking after-party. This is a pay-what-you-can event.

THEMUSEUM is also hosting a Financial Literacy Session in partnership with Each One Teach One – just for teens! This hands-on, personal finance workshop will teach budgeting, saving and money management, led by Libro Credit Union. Show me the money! is a free event on Wednesday, August 22; more details can be found here.

Both sessions are supported by THEMUSEUM’s exhibition on the third floor, Decoding E-Money, organized and circulated by the Bank of Canada Museum. While raising awareness of e-money, this exhibition also helps students understand the possible effects of digital currency. This exhibition is generously sponsored by BDO, The Actuarial Foundation and JA Waterloo Region and closes September 3, 2018.
