Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts dies at 80

It is with great sadness we’ve learned of the passing of Charlie Watts, the super energetic drummer and long-standing member of The Rolling Stones. Watts passed away peacefully at the age of 80, surrounded by family.

I am personally deeply saddened by this great loss.  Watts had anchored so many of the band’s infectious rock songs for almost 60 years, ranked just behind Mick Jagger and Keith Richards as the group’s longest lasting and most essential member.

Shining the light on the impactful life and times of Charlie Watts and The Rolling Stones is even more important now than ever.  As an organization, we remain committed to celebrating the rock band and the impact it has made all over the world.

Watts is survived by wife and daughter and remains forever in our hearts.

Signed,

David Marskell
