FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MURDOCH MYSTERIES: THE EXHIBITION OPENING THIS WEEKEND AT THEMUSEUM

Kicking off the exhibition is an exciting weekend of cast panels, performances from the KW Symphony and more to celebrate Canada’s top drama

KITCHENER, ON | November 10, 2022 — Starting November 11, 2022, guests will gain access to all things Murdoch Mysteries with a three month-long celebration including the opening of Murdoch Mysteries: The Exhibition at THEMUSEUM on November 12. Festivities will kick off on November 11 for a weekend full of exciting events featuring the KW Symphony, the cast of Murdoch Mysteries, Breakfast with Murdoch, tours, and the exhibit’s grand opening.

The celebrations will provide unprecedented access to the stars and creators of Murdoch Mysteries celebrating Canada’s top drama and its amazing fans.

Murdoch Mysteries in Concert will commence the festivities on November 11 at 8:00 p.m. at Centre in the Square. Guests can see Detective Murdoch, Dr. Julia Ogden, Inspector Brackenreid, Constable George Crabtree, and the entire cast on the big screen accompanied by local Canadian film and television composer and saxophonist Robert Carli’s score. This will be performed live by the KW Symphony in sync to ‘Murdoch Ahoy’, one of the most beloved and musically rich episodes of the series. Hosted by a member of the Murdoch Mysteries cast, guests will also get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of the episode.

On Saturday, November 12 and Sunday, November 13, the already sold-out Breakfast with Murdoch: A Morning Panel with a Q&A Session will take place. Those who purchased tickets will join the cast of Murdoch Mysteries for two unique panels on Saturday and Sunday morning. Guests will be able to enjoy breakfast, settle in for an intimate conversation with various cast and crew, and learn about how the show is made and what to expect from the upcoming season.

Running from November 12, 2022, to mid-February 2023, Murdoch Mysteries: The Exhibition will transport guests behind the scenes of the internationally acclaimed show. Guests will have the opportunity to step behind the camera and immerse themselves in the fascinating history, science, and fashion of the series. The exhibition provides the opportunity to explore what it takes to bring the world of Murdoch Mysteries to life through beautiful costumes, steampunk-style inventions, authentic set recreations and entertaining interactive experiences. This exhibition will appeal to a wide range of ages and interests, whether a history buff, a fan of film and television or simply a fan of the show, there is something for everyone.

Additionally, on November 25, 2022, THEMUSEUM will host a murder mystery cocktail party, A Killer Night at THEMUSEUM. Guests will be able to put their detective hats on and delve into a world of mystery. Tickets are 65% sold out.

The Murdoch Mysteries television series released in 2008, is a Canadian television drama series that currently airs on CBC. The series and its characters are based on the Detective Murdoch novels featuring eight novels from 1997 to 2017, written by Maureen Jennings. The television adaptation features Yannick Bisson as the fictional William Murdoch, a police detective working in Toronto, Ontario in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Now with 16 seasons, Murdoch Mysteries has been wildly successful amongst both Canadian and international audiences.
