UNZIPPED must close Easter Monday — April 18, 2022
Kitchener, ON | March 16, 2022 — THEMUSEUM in Kitchener, Ontario is thrilled to announce a final extension of The Rolling Stones | UNZIPPED exhibition in Waterloo Region. After a successful run since opening to the public on November 30, 2021, UNZIPPED will close at THEMUSEUM on Easter Monday — April 18. The popular Ronnie Wood Art Exhibition located in Uptown Waterloo will close as planned on March 27.
Following engagements in London, the United States, Australia and Asia, UNZIPPED at THEMUSEUM has provided a once in a lifetime opportunity for Canadian fans and visitors. As the band celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2022, the immersive experience gives visitors a backstage pass into the world famous rock band’s fascinating journey.
‘I am pleased we have been able to negotiate a final extension of UNZIPPED with the band’s Manager. Despite having our opening delayed a month, then being shuttered for another month, the attendance has been solid and on track to meet our projections. The ongoing demand we have experienced from tourists and those living in the Region of Waterloo has led to the ultimate demand for a final extension, and we are grateful to be able to accommodate that,” said David Marskell, CEO, THEMUSEUM.
The extended presence of UNZIPPED at THEMUSEUM provides an excellent opportunity for local visitors and tourists to add the destination to their list as warmer spring weather and Easter weekend approaches. The exhibition has attracted over 40% of visitors from beyond Waterloo Region, and an extended run of UNZIPPED will continue to positively impact local tourism, hospitality and arts and cultural sectors.
As the province continues to loosen its COVID-19 safety measures, THEMUSEUM has further announced updates to its requirements for the extended run of UNZIPPED. These updates include:
- Vaccine passports will only be required on Mondays and Tuesdays
- From time to time, certain events that involve other groups may also require passports
- Screening questions will be enforced
- Physical distancing will be encouraged
- Masks will be mandatory to visit THEMUSEUM and The Rolling Stones | UNZIPPED exhibition
- Capacity will be limited to less than 50%
The final block of tickets to visit UNZIPPED are now available for purchase at THEMUSEUM.ca. Newly announced, THEMUSEUM will be offering a 25% discount for those 55 & Better for Monday visits. As a not-for-profit, every ticket sold is viewed as a donation to THEMUSEUM, allowing it to continue securing world-class exhibitions like UNZIPPED.
