Curated by THEMUSEUM, the exhibition features the artwork of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood
Kitchener, ON | November 2, 2021 — THEMUSEUM will present the Ronnie Wood Art Exhibition this fall in advance of The Rolling Stones | UNZIPPED exhibition delivered by DHL.
Featuring the artwork of highly acclaimed artist and Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, the show, as part of a broader festival for the Region will complement the exclusive Canadian engagement of UNZIPPED, will open on Thursday November 4, 2021 in Uptown Waterloo.
Curated by Laurel McKellar, Senior Director of Curation, Exhibitions and Program Development at THEMUSEUM, the exhibition includes approximately 50 works of art, featuring a combination of original works, prints, and set list works. Original artwork will be for purchase along with signed setlist prints including The Rolling Stones’ only Canadian stop on their No Filter Tour at Burl’s Creek Event Grounds in 2019.
“The Ronnie Wood Exhibition will bring to Waterloo Region a wide range of artwork that spans the artist’s talented career — from his days spent as part of one of the most influential rock bands for the past fifty years to his endeavours as a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, artist, author and radio personality,” said David Marskell, CEO of THEMUSEUM. “The show celebrating the musical legend will be an exciting addition for visitors taking part in “The Year of The Rolling Stones” experience.”
“I’m so happy fans in Kitchener Waterloo, Ontario and across Canada will be able to see some of my very favourite artworks from my collection for the first time. Art and music are the two creative mediums I love, and many of these works tell the story of my life in music, celebrate my musical heroes, and the bands I’ve been a part of, along with pieces showing another muse of my life, the natural world,” said Ronnie Wood.
“This is an incredible and unique opportunity for residents of our Region to see first hand the incredible multiple talents of the Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood,” said Mayor Dave Jaworsky. “Many are familiar with his legendary work with the Rolling Stones, and this show provides insight into the depths of Mr. Wood’s artistic and creative talents. A fascinating and can’t miss show.”
